Hi Ladies! Let's use this post to introduce ourselves and post our short and long term healthy lifestyle transformation goals.

I will start with mine's.  My name is Jennifer Torres-Parker, creator of this site.  I'm originally from CT but I am currently residing in Saudi Arabia.  I originally came up with the idea for this as a measure of support for my journey to a healthy lifestyle, however, transformation for life has so many dimensions (more on this later).  I have initially invited women who are close to me and may benefit from the support and camaraderie of other women with similar goals.  My short term goals are to lose 15 lbs and improve my A1C numbers.  My long term goals are to adopt a healthy lifestyle for me and my family and reduce my BMI to within "normal range".  What about you? Let's hear it!

Hello, I'm Denise. I was recently told by my doctor that I had high cholesterol and need to do something about it before it gets worst. I made a bet with him that I would loose at least 20 lbs before my next visit. This will be my short term goal.

My next appointment is in July. So need to loose at least 16 more pounds by then.

Denise, I've found that eating a healthy diet and exercise help reduce cholesterol levels drastically. You've been eating healthy. Have you incorporated anytime of physical activity into your routine?

That is my issue, getting myself to the gym.

I started once again on this weight loss journey. I had to prepare myself mentally. I don't want to call this a diet because it's something I want to continue in the long-term and I want it to be a part of my daily life. I started at 211 lbs. about two weeks ago and I am currently at 202 lbs. My motivation is being able to feel healthy. I am at risk for diabetes and I want to decrease my chances. I also want to improve my self-esteem. And I want to be a role model for others to live a healthy lifestyle.

Maria,
Calling it a healthy lifestyle change is a good way to start! You are doing this for you and you are doing it for life! Trust me, you don't want to be diagnosed with diabetes. It is the devil.
